Marking out your territory on Google Maps
Who else knows where you are? Do you own your own location in Google Maps?
I just discovered, via Danny Sullivan’s SearchEngineLand.com (thanks Danny!) that Google LatLong is the blog for the Google Earth and Maps team.
Think globally, mark locally is a posting that features some very specific information about how to take control of your own location, but also, most interestingly for me as a marketer, the ability to move markers and set locations for other businesses in Australia, New Zealand and USA.
I’m going to play around with it, set a few markers for my clients businesses and let them know I have “staked a claim” on their behalf. Let’s see what the marketing potential of this can be…
“think blogally, market locally” - an interesting twist of the phrase that links to the blog posting.
“Did you mean: “think globally, market locally”
No standard web pages containing all your search terms were found.
Your search - “think blogally, market locally” - did not match any documents.”
Great, I have just coined a new phrase!
Suggestion to anyone in Australia, New Zealand and USA reading this posting : go forth and claim your business listing NOW, take ownership of it before someone else does.
