Robert Blackman – MLMMastermind, MLM Big Money – has restored my faith and his integrity

This post was previously called “Robert Blackman – MLMMastermind, MLM Big Money – fraud and scam artist” and contained content relating to my own experiences and quoting several other people, with a couple of links to their complaints.

Previously I had written in this blog about my experience with Mr Robert Blackman in an extremely negative light, after many attempts to resolve a matter of unreceived product and an offer of a refund that was subsequently never forthcoming.

Mr Blackman and presumably his Customer Service Manager have since acted to resolve my complaint.

I have now received a full refund of $197 USD from Mr Blackman and have received digital download access to the material that I had originally paid for more than two years ago.

Mr Blackman also confirmed to me that the package was shipped to me originally and then again when I had reported not receiving it.

While I have over the years received almost all the other Internet marketing packages I order in the mail from the USA, I unfortunately did not receive those sent by Mr Blackman.  That part of it was not his fault, and was not the source of my contention.

My complaint was specifically in relation to the eventual offer I was able to elicit after numerous communications, which was that of a refund and another package shipment. After that didn’t happen and after several more follow-up emails by me, I finally wrote to Mr Blackman saying I would have to take the matter public, which I did on this blog.

I note that nothing happened until I felt compelled to make unpleasant public written records of my experience.

In fact, after I published my complaints on this blog, nothing happened for a long time, until I eventually ranked #1 and/or #2 in Google for several of Mr Robert Blackman’s key search terms.  I was even ranking above Mr Blackman’s own web sites in Google for his own name “Robert Blackman” at one point.

It was at this point that I assume Mr Blackman felt he should address my complaint.

Which he did, in writing on 5th of July, 2009:

Bradley,

It seems we have a dispute almost three years old.

I want to clear this up today.

1)  What PayPal address can I send $197 to?

2)  I show that we did indeed Air Mail two packages to you.

You are saying you didn’t get them, yet the Post Office cannot
track Air Mail…so I am going to error in your favor.

3)  We have been taken by MANY people overseas with our
products who said they have not received them…thus we sent
you two packages and assumed you did get them, just as you
assumed we never sent them.

Enough, life is too short, so let’s clear this up today.

And, if you still want to listen to the course I can send
you an online mp3 version to insure you can listen to
them as well.

If not, I understand as well.

Good luck in your future endeavors and God Bless.

I sincerely thank you Mr Blackman for ultimately acting to resolve this matter.

He has restored his own integrity in my eyes and has restored my faith in humanity.

I was very bitter about my experience for a long while and I can now say wholeheartedly that I have let go of the bitterness and once again have confidence to deal with people in the MLM industry once again without a tainted heart.

Thank you Sheri Cuyos for your original communication and promise to both refund and ship another product.

Thank you Robert Blackman for eventually, finally honouring this promise.

Now it is my turn to offer an apology to Mr Blackman. He resolved this matter by the 10th July, and I wrote back to him on that day. I promised him to update my blog to acknowledge the resolution and now two months later I still had not done so.

In the past couple of days both Mr Blackman and his CSM Sheri Cuyos have commented on my blog requesting that I update it.

So at their prompting, I am belatedly fulfilling on my promise.

I apologise for the delay and regret any further impact this may have had on your business and reputation.

Here is my reply to Mr Blackman on 10th July:

 To: MLMMastermind Support <mlmmastermind@msn.com>
Subject: Re: Refund Question

Hello Robert,

I must say I’m pleasantly surprised to finally receive an email from you about this outstanding request for a refund.

Yes, there was the course I purchased that you shipped twice that I never received.

We had communicated about that by phone and I had sent numerous emails, several faxes and a few voice mails.

You would presumably have seen and recall at least some of my more than 20 separate communications.

After many emails and several faxes and phone calls over approximately an 18 month period, I eventually got a reply from Sheri, your office manager, where she had promised a refund and sending the package again.  See below my email, in case you don’t have a copy.

After Sheri’s email promising to send another course and a refund, I waited but I never received either the second package or the refund.

So I sent several further follow-up emails subsequent that, questioning your integrity.  I never received any replies to those emails.

So eventually, maybe a year later, I finally wrote to inform you expressing my distress that the promise was never honoured and advising that I felt I had no alternative but to publish my experience and use SEO to get my story in front of as many people as possible so they would know that promises were made and not kept.

You have presumably noticed that my letter to you on BlogAndGrow.com has been #1 in Google for “Robert Blackman” and is currently #2.

I guess that’s what has prompted you to finally write to me with your offer of refund to settle this matter?

I have to tell you I would have been so much happier if we had resolved this matter amicably without the need for me to take such serious action as to publish my dissatisfaction for all the world to see.

I have dealt with this matter in a way that I’m not especially proud of, but that was the course of action I ultimately committed to and I stuck to my word on that.

Anyway, leaving the past in the past, the present situation is that you are now again offering to set things right and I appreciate that.

You can issue the refund to Paypal at mail@melange.com.au

As all I ever wanted all along was to receive your training material, which I remain sure is excellent, and I made that point on my blog that was my great disappointment, not to receive the material, I would greatly appreciate access to an MP3 version as well.

In return for the refund and access to the material as MP3, I will update the pages on BlogAndGrow.com with information that you offered a to settle the matter and that we have achieved a settlement of my complaint.

In fact, I’m happy to publish a copy of this letter in lieu of the current letter if that suits you.

In addition to that, once I have listened to your course, I will write a review of it, which I will email to you.

If you feel it is a review you are happy to have published, I will also publish that on BlogAndGrow.com

Regardless of what has gone before, as you say life is too short.

This is our chance to turn lemons into lemonade.

I’d rather be friends than enemies and I hope I can say that my original belief and faith in you is vindicated at long last and the only person I have ever had to publicly criticize in my 15 years of online business has made good on the cause of my complaint.

Thank you Robert in advance for getting this complete.

We may never be friends but at least we can say that in the end we resolved our dispute as gentlemen and I will tell that to anyone who asks.

I appreciate it and I wish you all the best.

yours truly,

Bradley C Hughes

As a result of this matter being completed, I will now be able to listen to your training with a clear mind and an open heart.

When I do so, I shall write a review and post it on this blog.

All the best,

Bradley C Hughes

Eric (at) profitleads.com writes on 12 August 2008:

As a former employee of Robert Blackman’s I can attest that in one year he had over 9,000 orders…and all you have is a couple of complaints. Most of the people who order from Robert are people who are not serious about what they are doing and blame Robert for their failure to take action. Robert is not perfect, but he’s not a scam artist or fraud. Sounds like you have a personal grudge against him because he’s successful and you aren’t.

Reply from Bradley on 13 December 2008:

Dear Eric,

I accept your attestation about Mr Blackman’s order track record when you worked with him.

You use the past tense with regards to your employment, but your email address is at profitleads.com which is one of Mr Blackman’s web sites. Given that you provide an email address which is the property of Mr Blackman, how can I be sure you’re not acting under instructions from Mr Blackman to refute any criticism of him?

Eric, The situation is simple. I have had a completely unacceptable experience with Mr Blackman, which could have been addressed by him on numerous occasions over more than a two year period.

In addition to leads, which I received electronically, I purchased a training course and a CD from Mr Blackman. He failed to ship those materials to me successfully. I raised this with him in multiple communications channels over twenty times, including in three telephone conversations. The bottom line is, he promised to supply the goods and never did. His office manager later promised to both supply the goods and a refund, then never did either, even after several more follow-up emails where I explicitly indicated that I would feel compelled to write publicly about it in the event the promises were not honoured.

Mr Blackman has my money since April 1st, 2006. He has failed to supply what I purchased, despite repeated promises to do so.

Here was the last communication I received, after more than a year of sending many emails, faxes and several phone calls:

At 10:47 PM 17/09/2007, you wrote:

“Dear Bradley,

My name is Sheri Cuyos, the customer manager for Robert Blackman.
I will be happy to assist you today!

On 3/31 I see we charged you $197 (US) and we shipped it out by Airmail.

I do not see the teleseminar CD you talked about. What was the order number on that?

What I will be happy to do is refund your money and send out your material again.

Robert has been in the MLM industry for 25 years and has tens of thousands satisfied customers and I have worked for him for 7 years now and I will tell you his material is the best I have ever listened to.

When we ship overseas there is no way to track it…so I apologize as I do not have any tracking numbers to trace where you package when.

But, I assure you I will start the refund process today for you and also once you give me the order number of the Teleseminar CD I will refund that as well and ship them both again to you.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Sheri Cuyos

Customer Service Manager”

This was never honoured, despite several more follow-ups from me, including a final warning insisting upon satisfaction, or I would publish my experience online, as I have done here.

These are objective facts. From where I sit, he has my money and I have nothing for it. I got defrauded of my money by someone who has behaved like a scam artist, making several promises but not keeping them.

I am an elected councillor representing my community. As such, I have a responsibility to conduct myself with the highest level of integrity. Therefore, I don’t take such actions as publishing material like this lightly. It is the only instance in my life in which I have ever done so and it is a source of deep and abiding regret that it came to this, but it was my final recourse.

If you call Mr Blackman’s conduct in dealing with my grievances “success”, I can only be glad that I have not achieved that kind of “success”.

I have been a business owner since 1993 and while I have had my share of unsatisfied customers for one reason or another, I have always done my best to conclude those relationships in a mutually acceptable manner. I have never left a dissatisfied customer situation like this unresolved in the face of ongoing requests for satisfaction.

I find it incomprehensible that anyone could do so if they were truly a person of genuine integrity.

yours truly,

Bradley C Hughes

Buying leads is a scam your leads should call you

Hi, I found your blog on this new directory of WordPress Blogs at blackhatbootcamp.com/listofwordpressblogs. I dont know how your blog came up, must have been a typo, i duno. Anyways, I just clicked it and here I am. Your blog looks good. Have a nice day. James.

Hello, I noticed you are no longer updating this blog. You should be happy because your blog already got a PR 5. Congratulations.

You ever heard of ASD Cash Generator? It’s a pretty big MLM scam. It actually caused a lot of people lose their money from this. Check it out. The man pretty much got caught by the early August though…

Check it out.

I am sorry that some have had not been happy with their experiences with Robert Blackman. My story is completely different and has been very positive.

I know that Mr Blackman has helped many many people over the years because I have bumped into them and they have told me about him – all good reports. One person that I’ve known personally for several years is making a very good multiple 6 figure income and counts Robert Blackman among his most influential mentors.

Just remember that some people can screw up just about anything and then blame it all on someone else. These are not the people you need to be listening to if you want to be successful. Surround yourself with positive, results oriented people and learn from those that are a bit further along the road to success than you are.

Your future is up to you!

Thanks for letting us know about this fraud. I think this will help many out there by the experiences of Jack and Cashman.

Thank you for your input. I went thru the usual
“newbie” period and got ripped off over and over.
I finally learned to check a company out before I
considered joining it, and thank God, I found my
answer here. I belong to two cash gifting
companies, and altho I have yet to make any
money, I know I will eventually. My current
sponsor tries to mentor me as much as possible,
and I’ve learned a lot from him, but I sort of
look for opportunities that could speed up my
learning curve. Like you said, he offers a good
deal, but the price was a tad high as if I didn’t
get sales soon, as I know I have to advertise to
make money, then I would know I had made a bad
decision. His price is good IF you DO learn how
to advertise and gain his knowledge through his
mentoring, as you will make your money back to
offset the cost of the program, but if his program
did NOT work, then I’d be, once again, scammed big
time.
God Bless all of you for revealing your stories,
and if you still haven’t found a truly ethical and
honest program, I can ensure you will make money
with the two programs I’m in now.
I would just feel better if I was just a little bit
smarter about internet marketing than I am now,
but with time, my current sponsor, who has become
my sponsor, friend and mentor, will help me reach
my goals. But he is very busy, so I sort of look
for programs that I could learn from without
having to bug him so much.
Warmly,
Corinne

Thanks man for warning us – I will close my eyes when I see him ;-)

wow It’s getting a little intense. I never bought anything from him but his mlm big money is a pretty good book for mlmers.

I am currently trying to resolve issues with Robert Blackman. have sent several emails and left several voicemails. my issue is i have been charged $104 for april and 104 for may for leads i never received. I just want some follow-up. not even a call from sheri (left voicemails)

I don’t think it’s fair to call all MLM or so-called network marketing opportunities as scams. There are legits out there, some of which I’m a member of and earning some decent residual income from.

Sad to say, cases like this Blackman smudges the good face of the MLM industry.

Hello Bradley,

I understand that you have been fully refunded for the above training.
I do sincerely apologize for all the confusion and any inconvenience this has caused you.
I do not believe that Robert is a scam, but a great trainer with 27 years experience.
Again, I do apologize that my customer service team was unable to deliver high quality standards.
But don’t let our faults cloud the great message that Robert relays in his training!
We wish you prosperity in your future endeavors Bradley!

Sheri Cuyos

Bradley,

Please inform all your subscribers that we did ship two (2) packages by airmail overseas to you to no avail.

Since then we have gladly refunded you…and you have acknowledged that you received it.

Thank you.
