Twitter Updates for 2008-01-27
- Goodness gracious, according to http://twittermap.com/maps I am the only Twitterer east of Anzac Parade, Sydney for its entire length. Wow. #
- Looks like almost all Twitter peeps in Sydney, just put location as "Sydney" so you’re all located in CBD. How about some suburban pride? #
- Wondering why @twittervision doesn’t provide a link from people’s twittervision page to their Twitter page, better yet a Follow link? #
- Apart from that apparent big missing, @twittervision is tres cool, lots of fun, informative. May I say very well done to you Mr David Troy! #
- Watching epic Australian Open men’s final between Djokovic & Tsonga. Sets: 2-1, Games 6-6 in 3rd set, tie-break 3:1. Ch 7 visual 702 audio. #
- http://tinyurl.com/2j9pyo for Twitter peeps with no TV / radio coverage available. #
- Tsonga in big trouble in the 3rd set tie-break, now down 1 to 5. 3 unforced errors in 6 points. Pressure too much for him? #
- Serbian Djokovic takes the tie-break and graduates to Master with his first GrandSlam, winning the Australian Open men’s final 3 sets to 1. #
- Djokovic congratulated by Tsonga, then bows down, kisses the court, throws his raquet to the Serbian fans in the crowd. Tsonga towels off. #
- @AussieAna Wasn’t that an amazing fourth set of tennis!!
# - @AussieAna What was the weird thing Jim asked before? #
- Fantastic to see & hear rousing cheers of support & acclaim for runner-up Tsonga,as he thanks his opponent for a good fight then thanks all. #
- Novak Djokovic first Serb to win a GrandSlam & youngest male to win an Australian Open. Makes a friendly rapprochement with the crowd. Kudos #
- Practising Buddhist Geek "Do no harm" tolerance as very large cockroach runs around my lounge room floor. Just stay away from my coffee! #
- Watching tweets popping up all over planet on TwitterVision http://twittervision.com/ 1st time I have seen real-time global speech bubbles! #
- Watching TwitterVision the true visual visceral experience of the term Global Village just smacked me upside the head. Hello Twitter-World! #
- Didn’t realise Twitter was so huge in Japan, large proportion of TwitterVision updates coming from the Land of the Rising Sun. Hajimemashite #
- @warzabidul Yes I understand what you are saying. I’m starting to communicate with international people purely through Twitter. it is great! #
- @warzabidul Yes, that will be next stage for me. I have Twitter friends I already know personally, but not yet Twittered 1st, then met real. #
- @warzabidul I had a prior engagement two Fridays past when there was a Sydney meet-up for Yum Cha, otherwise would already have done so. #
- @warzabidul Glad to share these thoughts with someone far, far away physically, yet connected via a comms medium of choice
# - @warzabidul Glad for Londoners
Sydney, the vibrant poly-communicative city that she is, will be sure to have more fun @STUB events soon. # - @warzabidul chat, were you using IRC? 1996 no profiles? I had student, business & personal web home pages, finger files on my Unix accounts. #
- Ah, looking up people’s finger files, those were the days… don’t you hate it when people say "those were the days"?
# - In late 80s there were amazing intrepid PC techno-geeks who ran multi-line FidoNet BBS systems with >100 dial-up lines. Chat was @ 30 … #
- 12:10am… the pumpkin hour. Tomorrow I have two law essays to write, a web site to finish and an evening yacht race. Tweet-night people! #
- @warzabidul sure was! When I co-setup an ISP in 1995, we paid > $1,300 per mth for a 128 Kbit ISDN link. Can’t remember per MB excess … #
- @warzabidul Yes, I race twice per week most weeks, on Sydney harbour or short offshore races. This week it’s Monday evening and Friday night #
- I was not successful in winning the Botany Bay Austalia Day Councillor’s Cup challenge for Randwick City for 4th year running. Came in 2nd. #
- Australia Day Botany Bay Regatta Councillor’s Cup has passed back to Randwick’s neighbours at Botany Bay Council. Congratulations Botany. #
- Greetings new Twitter friends @loudmouthman, @scobleizer, @jeffpulver. Jeff, think I was a subscriber to your VOIP list as far back as 1996. #
- @JeffPulver I am a bit hazy about exactly when I first signed up to your VOIP email list. I know I was on a Mac LC 630 ‘040 CPU at the time. #
- Bed-time reading is Neal Stephenson’s "Confusion". Aptly describes my state of mind attempting to choose which of his books is my favourite! #
- Funny thought about Twitter and English language. 140 chars is a secret USA linguists’ plan to get us to type favorite instead of favourite. #
- 12:44am and I’m still playing podcasts and twittering. Note to self: putting my laptop at the end of my bed is bad for my sleeping patterns. #
- Shutting the lid of this laptop, turning off the speakers and reading a real paper book instead. Goodnight, really! this time. #
